Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced on Tuesday that the state will soon initiate the digitization of milk procurement in eight to ten pilot societies. The move, discussed during a review meeting of the Animal Husbandry Department, aims to ensure quality milk products and employ advanced technology to benefit the farming community.
Key directives include implementing individual milk testing and real-time data management with web and mobile interfaces. GPS-enabled route tracking and optimization will be introduced for efficient milk transport, and separate marketing for Himachali dairy products is to be established to ensure farmers receive better prices.
The initiative promises direct bank transfers to beneficiaries and comprehensive notifications regarding milk collection, quality, and pricing via SMS. Chief Minister Sukhu highlighted that digitization will facilitate hassle-free operations and bolster transparency in milk procurement processes in the state.
