Primate Labs, creators of the renowned Geekbench benchmarking suite, have unveiled a state-of-the-art tool to evaluate machine learning capabilities: Geekbench AI. Now accessible on iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, and Linux, this benchmark assesses how efficiently devices manage real-world AI tasks, confirmed GSM Arena.

Originally known as Geekbench ML during its preview phase, Geekbench AI aims to provide a thorough overview of device performance in artificial intelligence. It measures the effectiveness and accuracy of CPUs, GPUs, and NPUs (Neural Processing Units) in executing machine-learning tasks.

Geekbench AI offers three distinct scores for each test: single precision, half-precision, and quantized. These scores indicate both the speed and accuracy with which a device handles AI workloads.

The benchmark also features efficiency comparisons over time, granting users a detailed picture of their device's AI capabilities, according to GSM Arena. With support for a broad range of AI frameworks, Geekbench AI demonstrates versatility across different platforms. It integrates CoreML for macOS and iOS, OpenVINO for Windows and Linux, QNN for Snapdragon-powered Arm PCs, and various vendor-specific frameworks for Android devices.

Each test is run through at least five iterations to ensure that devices are assessed at their optimal performance levels. The new tool is embedded within the Geekbench browser, facilitating seamless cross-comparisons between different devices.

This feature allows users to measure and compare the AI processing power of their devices against others, making Geekbench AI a valuable asset for both consumers and developers. Geekbench AI is poised to become a critical tool for evaluating the rapidly advancing field of machine learning and artificial intelligence across a diverse range of devices.
