Unicommerce, an IPO-bound SaaS platform, has reported a significant 16% increase in order volumes during mid-year online sales compared to the previous year, according to a statement released on Monday.

The company noted that this volume growth was accompanied by a 19% rise in gross merchandise value year-on-year, reflecting robust market engagement in 2024 over 2023.

"Our analysis of orders processed through the Unicommerce platform shows that customers took full advantage of mid-year sales, resulting in a 16% order volume increase during the sales week of July 19-25, 2024, compared to the same sale period last year," said Unicommerce.

The company observed a 78% growth in the health and pharma segment, with strong consumer interest in healthy products and nutraceuticals during the sale period. Categories such as FMCG, agriculture, and beauty also saw year-on-year order volume growth of over 48% and 21%, respectively.

Additionally, consumer spending on electronics and home appliances rose by more than 24% during the 2024 sales, driven by an uptick in purchases of items like RO water purifiers, smart TV stabilisers, and water kettles.
