Polish High Jumper Norbert Kobielski Suspended for Doping

Poland's high jumper Norbert Kobielski has been suspended for the presence or use of a prohibited substance, the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) announced on Tuesday. The suspension comes just days before the Paris Olympic Games get underway.

The AIU revealed that Kobielski tested positive for Pentedrone norephedrine metabolite, a banned substance. A notice of the allegation has been issued.

Last year, Kobielski won bronze at the European Games. He also recorded a personal best of 2.33 meters at the Eugene Diamond League final event in September. The men's high jump event in Paris is set to begin on August 7.
