KL Rahul, the former wicketkeeper-batter for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), has confirmed his departure ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. Speaking on Star Sports, Rahul expressed his desire for a fresh start and emphasized the need to explore different team environments within the T20 tournament.

In a candid revelation, Rahul voiced his intentions to join a team where he could enjoy more freedom and a lighter atmosphere. He stated that sometimes stepping away can lead to personal and professional growth, further asserting his ambitions to perform well in the upcoming IPL season and regain his spot in India's T20I squad.

Rahul's tenure with LSG included 38 matches over three seasons, scoring over 1,200 runs. Despite an impressive tally, his batting decisions, especially a strike rate of 136.13 during IPL 2024, sparked criticism for impeding the team's momentum. As he eyes future prospects, Rahul enters the 2025 IPL mega-auction with a base price of Rs 2 crore.
