In a straightforward critique, former India cricketer Virender Sehwag commented on Pakistan batter Babar Azam's recent downturn in performance, pointing to his fitness as a key area of improvement. Sehwag's remarks came amid surprising decisions by Pakistan's selection committee, dropping Babar from the crucial matches against England in the ongoing Test series.

The gap left by Azam was filled by Kamran Ghulam, who received his debut Test cap. Despite early critiques, Ghulam displayed commendable resilience, crafting a remarkable 118-run innings off 124 balls. His performance significantly boosted Pakistan's standing in the face of a challenging English bowling attack.

During a discussion on Shoaib Akhtar's YouTube channel, Sehwag suggested Babar take a break from international formats, emphasizing the need for mental and physical recovery through domestic cricket. Sehwag remarked, 'Babar should spend time with family, improve his fitness, and return stronger to international cricket.'

Highlighting the former captain's mental strain, Sehwag noted, 'Babar, a player with immense talent, needs mental toughness to rebound rapidly.' Meanwhile, the deciding Test in Rawalpindi is highly anticipated, following Pakistan's leveling of the series, thanks to prominent performances from spinners Noman Ali and Sajid Khan.
