The Kerala Blasters staged a dramatic comeback to defeat East Bengal 2-1 in their Indian Super League (ISL) clash at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Sunday.
East Bengal seized the lead in the 59th minute through Vishnu Puthiya, only for the Blasters to respond with goals from Noah Sadaoui in the 63rd minute and Kwame Peprah in the 88th minute, clinching all three points in front of an exuberant home crowd.
The first half saw near-misses from forwards on both sides. East Bengal's Jesus Jimenez and Kerala Blasters' Dimitrios Diamantakos were unable to capitalize on opportunities. However, Dimitrios assisted Vishnu for the game's opening goal before Sadaoui and Peprah struck to turn the game around for the Blasters. Kerala Blasters will next face NorthEast United on September 29, while East Bengal will play FC Goa on September 27.
