Tiger Woods announced he underwent successful microdecompression surgery on his lower back, aiming to reduce pain and spasms. The 48-year-old golf legend hopes to resume normal activities and golf following recovery. Tiger Woods has successfully undergone microdecompression surgery on his lower back, aimed at alleviating the pain and spasms that plagued him throughout this season. The surgery, performed in West Palm Beach, Florida, was announced on Woods' official X account.
"The surgery went smoothly, and I'm hopeful this will help alleviate the back spasms and pain I was experiencing throughout most of the 2024 season," Woods stated. The golfing icon looks forward to rehab and resuming his daily activities, including playing golf.
Woods, 48, kept a limited schedule this year, participating only in the Genesis Invitational and the four major tournaments. His last appearance was at the British Open in July, where he did not make the cut. Despite a career-threatening car crash in 2021, the 82-time PGA Tour winner intends to continue his career as long as he can compete successfully.
