Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has extended his contract with the Premier League club until 2027, the club announced on Thursday.
The Spaniard, who took over as manager in December 2019, expressed his pride and excitement for the future. "I feel extremely proud, very excited and am looking forward to what is coming next," Arteta said.
Arteta guided Arsenal back into the Champions League in 2023 after five years out of the top four, and set new club records with 28 Premier League wins and 91 goals in the 2023-24 season.
Arsenal sporting director Edu emphasized the stability and clear direction Arteta's new contract brings. "Mikel's new contract gives us stability and clear direction as we aim for new heights," Edu said.
Arsenal, currently fourth in the league, will face local rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
