The 14th Junior Men's National Hockey Championship saw strong performances from Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, and Punjab, who all secured wins on Tuesday.
In the opening match, Madhya Pradesh triumphed over Chhattisgarh with a 6-0 scoreline. Zameer Mohammad scored twice early, with team members Mohd Anas, captain Ali Ahmad, Viveka Pal, and Tushar Parmar adding to the tally.
Uttar Pradesh dominated Chandigarh 8-0, highlighted by Ajeet Yadav's hat-trick and goals from Fahad Khan, Gaurav Yadav, captain Suraj Pal, and Anand Kumar. Himachal overwhelmed Goa 11-1, thanks to Ashish Kumar's remarkable six goals. Manipur registered a 7-0 win over Maharashtra, while Punjab wrapped up the day with a 6-1 victory against Bihar.
