An incident of violence erupted in Manipur on Sunday as Kuki militants allegedly attacked Koutruk villagers, according to the State Government. Dr. Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), reported that eight patients were admitted following the attack, with one fatality and the others declared out of danger.

'This evening eight patients were admitted here. One of them died, and the remaining are out of danger. Out of the remaining seven, three have moved to other hospitals,' Dr. Sharma said. 'One of the patients is an army personnel with a minor injury on the right hand, and another volunteer has minor injuries on the face and legs. We are providing necessary treatment, including CT scans and ultrasounds. Three of the patients are women and are currently out of danger.'

The attack involved the use of drones, bombs, and various sophisticated weapons, reportedly by Kuki militants, leading to the death of two individuals, including one woman. The Manipur Government has condemned the attack, calling it an attempt to disrupt the ongoing efforts to restore normalcy and peace in the state. The Manipur Police also noted the possible involvement of highly trained professionals with technical expertise in the attack. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and have urged the public to maintain restraint.
