The Supreme Court on Monday sought a response from Himachal Pradesh regarding Adani Power Limited's plea for a refund of Rs 280 crore plus interest from the state government. This pertains to two hydropower projects in Kinnaur district.
On July 18, a division bench of the high court overturned a single bench's decision to return the Rs 280 crore to Adani Power. An apex court bench comprising Justices M M Sundresh and Aravind Kumar issued notice to the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu government, following Adani Power's challenge to the high court order.
Adani Power argued that despite the Himachal Pradesh government deciding to issue the refund back in September 2015, they have not received the amount, adversely impacting their financial capacity and investment flow.
