Moraji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY) has entered into a research collaboration with the Sports Authority of India (SAI) to enhance athletic performance through yoga. Key areas of focus include injury prevention, rehabilitation, and performance enhancement.

The MoU was signed by MDNIY Director Kashinath Samagandi and SAI's Bibhu Kalyan Nayak during a six-day Continuing Medical Education (CME) Programme for yoga therapists and instructors at MDNIY.

Leveraging MDNIY's expertise in yoga and the National Centre for Sports Science & Research's (NCSSR) specialization in sports medicine, the partnership aims to develop customized yoga strategies for athletes. This initiative includes comprehensive studies to evaluate physiological, mental strength, and flexibility parameters, thus ensuring effective yoga integration in athletic training.
