India's Navdeep Singh clinched an historic gold medal in the men's javelin throw F41 category at the Paris Paralympics, following the disqualification of Iran's Beit Sayah Sadegh.
Singh, who hails from Haryana, began the competition with a foul but made a remarkable comeback with a throw of 46.39 meters in his second attempt. His third attempt electrified the stadium as he shattered the Paralympic record with a throw of 47.32 meters, taking the lead.
Although Sadegh initially bettered Singh's mark with a throw of 47.64 meters, he was later disqualified, elevating Singh to the top spot and earning India its first gold medal in this category.
