Oliver Bearman will step in for the banned Kevin Magnussen at next week's Azerbaijan Grand Prix, confirmed the U.S.-owned Haas Formula One team on Friday. Bearman, who is on reserve for Ferrari, will partner with Nico Hulkenberg.
Bearman, set to join Haas full-time next season, previously debuted for Ferrari as a stand-in for Carlos Sainz in March. Magnussen triggered a mandatory one-race ban last weekend after accumulating 12 penalty points over 12 months. He will return in Singapore.
Bearman, 19, stated his prior experience stepping in for Sainz and four Friday practice sessions with Haas would be invaluable. Team boss Ayao Komatsu expressed excitement about Bearman racing alongside Hulkenberg, highlighting it as a valuable opportunity for the team.
