Indian-American golfer Sahith Theegala clinched $7.5 million with a third-place finish in the FedExCup, completing four rounds at 21-under at the TOUR Championships.
Theegala's self-imposed two-shot penalty on Saturday for a minor bunker infraction did not deter him. Starting at 3-under, his rounds of 67-66-66-64 led to a 72-hole total of 263, second only to American Collin Morikawa's 24-under.
Scottie Scheffler emerged victorious in the TOUR Championships with a 4-under 67, capturing the FedExCup and its $25 million prize, the richest in golf. His remarkable season features eight wins, paralleling Tiger Woods' 2006 achievements.
