Joaquin Niemann has condemned the Presidents Cup's decision to ban LIV Golf players, stating it prevents the best field from competing in the upcoming event at Royal Montreal.

Unlike the Ryder Cup, where LIV player Brooks Koepka competed, the Presidents Cup will exclude any players from the Saudi-backed LIV circuit. The U.S. PGA Tour, which runs the Presidents Cup, enforced this ban after the LIV circuit launched in 2022.

Chilean Niemann, who ranks second on LIV's individual standings, criticized this policy in a press call, expressing disappointment about being unable to join the team. He argued that the event should feature the world's best golfers, and the internationals would have a stronger team if LIV players could participate. Despite ongoing discussions, no deal has been brokered between PGA Tour, DP World Tour, and Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund.
