Rubina Francis, a clubfooted shooter, extended India's medal streak by winning a bronze in the women's 10m air pistol SH1 event at the Paris Paralympics on Saturday. Rubina's aggregate score of 211.1 secured her third place, trailing behind Iran's Sareh Javanmardi and Turkey's Aysel Ozgan.

This marks India's fourth medal from shooting events and the fifth overall in the ongoing Paralympics. Rubina's talent was first identified by the Gun for Glory academy in 2015. She has been trained by Subhash Rana, the brother of renowned coach Jaspal Rana.

In other events, badminton players Sukant Kadam and Nitesh Kumar also made significant strides by reaching the semifinals in their respective categories, assuring India of more medals. This adds to the previous successes by Avani Lekhara and Manish Narwal in shooting events.
