India's athletes continue to excel at the Paris Paralympics, with Avani Lekhara making headlines once again. After securing a gold medal in the women's 10m SH1 event, Lekhara has qualified for the R8 women's 50m 3 positions final by finishing seventh with a score of 1159.

Mona Agarwal, who previously clinched a bronze, finished 13th in the qualification round with a score of 114, missing out on the final eight. Earlier, Lekhara had secured India's first gold at the Paralympics by dominating the women's 10m air rifle final with a score of 249.7 points, her personal best. Agarwal also added to India's tally with a bronze in the same event.

Manish Narwal claimed the silver medal in the men's 10m air pistol SH1 event, finishing with 234.9 points despite facing mid-match challenges. Meanwhile, Rubina Francis bagged a bronze in the women's 10m air pistol SH-1 final. In para-badminton, Nithya Sre Sivan and Nitesh secured first-time medals for India, with Nitesh clinching gold in the men's singles SL3 category. Other notable performances included a bronze for Manisha and a silver for Murugesan in para-badminton, and Preeti Pal's bronze in the 100m T35 event.

On the fifth day of the Paralympics, India stands 15th in the medal tally with three golds, five silvers, and seven bronzes, showcasing the nation's growing prowess in para-sports.
