Indian shooter Rubina Francis demonstrated exceptional determination, securing a spot in the women's 10m air pistol (SH1) final at the Paralympic Games on Saturday. Despite trailing most of the qualification round, the 25-year-old from Madhya Pradesh surged at the last moment to finish in seventh place.

In contrast, shooter Swaroop Unhalkar couldn't make a significant impact in the men's 10m air rifle (SH1) event. The 38-year-old, competing in his second Paralympics, finished 14th in the qualification round, missing the finals by a considerable margin. Unhalkar had aggregated 613.4 points, well behind the leading score of 624.4 by South Korea's Park Jinho.

This series of events occurred a day after Avani Lekhara made headlines by becoming the first Indian woman to win two Paralympic golds, making it a mixed performance period for the Indian Paralympic shooting contingent.
