In a day marked by high expectations and rigorous competition, India's cyclists Jyoti and Arshad Shaik did not advance to the finals in their respective events at the Para-Cycling qualifiers. Jyoti, who had earlier shown great promise, finished 11th in the women's C1-3 500m time trial with a time of 52.098 seconds.

Despite her commendable effort, her performance fell short of reaching the finals. In the men's C1-3 1000m time trial, Arshad Shaik faced a tough challenge, finishing 17th with a time of 1:26:154, which also did not qualify him for the final round. He looks forward to competing again on September 4th in the C2 individual time trial (Road) qualifying event, presenting another opportunity to shine on the international stage.

Meanwhile, India's shooters and athletes made headlines with stellar performances at the Paris Paralympics. Avani Lekhara clinched gold in the women's 10m air rifle final, while Mona Agarwal secured bronze in the same event. Manish Narwal won silver in the men's 10m air pistol SH1 event, and Preeti Pal bagged bronze in the 100m T35 event. India's largest-ever Paralympics contingent at Paris 2024, consisting of 84 athletes across 12 sports, aims to surpass the historic achievements of Tokyo 2020, where India won 19 medals.
