Karnataka Unveils State Space Policy at Bengaluru Space Expo

Karnataka is set to roll out a comprehensive state space policy aimed at spurring investments and driving innovations in space technology, according to Minister Priyank Kharge. The announcement was made at the eighth Bengaluru Space Expo organized in collaboration with ISRO, IN-SPACe, NSIL, and CII.
The expo, held until September 20 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), covers various subjects in the space sector such as India's Space Reforms, business opportunities within Indian space industries, and the socio-economic impact of space technologies. It features participation from over 150 companies from 14 countries, attracting around 10,000 business visitors.
The Minister highlighted Karnataka's leadership in the space sector, exemplified by Bengaluru-based startup Pixxel's recent contract with NASA. The state aims to establish a Centre of Excellence in space technology while enhancing its aerospace and defense manufacturing capabilities.
