Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca gave little away regarding the club's intentions before the transfer window closes, underscoring his uncertainty about the final squad lineup. The Italian manager has acknowledged the need to offload players, with one notable move involving keeper Djordje Petrovic, who has joined RC Strasbourg on loan just hours before the window's end.

Maresca had no additional updates on the club's transfer dealings but expressed relief at the prospect of knowing his final squad. "In this moment, we cannot give an update because we do not know how we will look when the transfer window closes," Maresca said. "For all managers, once the window is closed, you can work just with that squad, those numbers, so you feel a bit better. I've already said that since I started, I'm working with around 25 players, so you can manage quite well."

Despite the uncertainties, Maresca, who took over in June replacing Mauricio Pochettino, is content with his current roster. "I really like the squad; I've said that since my first day here. We have many versatile players who can play in different positions," he noted. "That is something I love. I feel lucky because first of all they are good boys, good human beings, and then they are also good players, so this is important." Chelsea, with three points from two games, will host Crystal Palace on Sunday. "I watched both of their games; they probably didn't deserve to lose, but this is football," Maresca observed. "They are a very good team since last year; they finished fantastic, and for sure this year, they are again going to be there."
