John Textor Navigates Complexities in Everton Purchase Amid Crystal Palace Stake Sale

American businessman John Textor finds himself in a challenging position as he navigates the process of buying Everton, hindered by limited information due to his co-ownership of another Premier League club, Crystal Palace. Despite these challenges, Textor is working through the complexities.

Textor, who aims to sell his shares in Crystal Palace to acquire Everton from majority owner Farhad Moshiri, mentioned that he is close to finalizing who would purchase his 45% stake in the London club. He explained his position saying, "I'm in an awkward spot but we're working through it."

Textor's Eagle Football Group also holds stakes in other clubs, including French Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyonnais and Brazilian team Botafogo. Addressing Everton's accounting issues, which previously led to a points deduction, Textor expressed confidence that these problems are manageable. As he seeks solutions to bridge his information gap, Textor expects to finalize the sale of his Crystal Palace stake within a week or two despite potential competition for Everton's ownership.
