Sri Lanka captain Dhananjaya de Silva won the toss and chose to bowl in the second test of the three-match series against England held on Thursday under glorious sunshine at Lord's.
England made one enforced change from the side that clinched a five-wicket victory in the first test at Old Trafford last week, with seamer Olly Stone stepping in for the injured Mark Wood.
Sri Lanka made adjustments as well, bringing in Pathum Nissanka for Kusal Mendis, while seamer Lahiru Kumara replaced Vishwa Fernando. Dinesh Chandimal, despite a thumb injury sustained at Old Trafford, retained his spot in the playing XI.
