However, Goenka remained evasive about player retention and captaincy decisions for the next IPL season, stating the franchise is waiting for the BCCI to release its rules.
A widely discussed video showcased Goenka in an animated discussion with Rahul following a heavy defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad last season. Recently, Rahul expressed his desire to stay with the team during a meeting in Kolkata, adding more to the speculations.
Goenka revealed to reporters, 'We have not taken any call till the retention rules are out.' He emphasized that Rahul has significantly contributed to the team since its inception and stressed the importance of waiting for the official policies before making any final decisions.
