Ajay Ratra, a former Indian wicketkeeper-batter, has been appointed to the BCCI Men's Selection Committee, the Board of Control for Cricket in India announced Tuesday. He replaces Salil Ankola, with the decision made by the Cricket Advisory Committee and the selection committee chaired by Ajit Agarkar.

Ratra has an impressive cricketing background, having played six Tests and 12 ODIs for India, alongside over 90 First-Class matches for Haryana. As a selector, Ratra will work with the committee to identify and support emerging talents. He brings extensive coaching experience, having led teams like Assam, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh, and was part of the coaching staff for India's ODI series in South Africa in 2023.

The BCCI also revised the upcoming home season schedule. The first T20I against Bangladesh on October 6 has been moved from Dharamsala to Gwalior due to renovation work. India's home international season for 2024-25 includes series against Bangladesh, New Zealand, and England, concluding with ODIs before the 2025 Champions Trophy.
