Nongiri Presbyterian Secondary School from Meghalaya and Mother's Pride Public School from Himachal Pradesh secured the final quarterfinal slots in the 63rd Subroto Cup Sub-Junior Boys International Football Tournament. These matches are hosted in various city venues.
The two schools will now face off against Infocus India Public School, St. Stephen's Chandigarh, Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan, Major Dhyanchand Sports College Uttar Pradesh, Manikpara Vivekananda Vidyapeeth West Bengal, and Army Boys Sports Company Bengaluru in the quarterfinals set for Sunday, August 25, at the Army Service Corps Centre, according to a release.
In the decisive Group B match, Nongiri Presbyterian crushed Gyanmata High School, Daman and Diu & Dadra & Nagar Haveli 8-0, ensuring their place in the next round. Group D saw Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Pakur I, Jharkhand narrowly beat Fountain Head School, Gujarat 2-1, but it wasn't enough to surpass Mother's Pride Public School's goal difference. Other results include Tashi Namgyal Academy, Sikkim's 2-0 victory over The Army Public School, New Delhi, and Ebenezer High School, Tripura's 3-1 win against Indira Modern High School, Haryana.
