India's dominance in women's wrestling at the Under-17 World Championship reached new heights as Kajal clinched the title with a commanding 9-2 win over Ukraine's Oleksandra Rybak in the 69kg category on Saturday. This victory marks the fifth gold for India in the ongoing edition.

Despite her best efforts, Shrutika had to settle for a silver after being overwhelmed by Japan's Yuu Katsume in the 46kg final, which concluded in just 40 seconds. Raj Bala secured a bronze in the 40kg category with an 11-5 win over Japan's Monaka Umekawa. Meanwhile, Muskan showcased technical superiority against USA's Isabella Gonzales in the 53kg bronze play-off.

While the women's team triumphed, the men's freestyle wrestlers fell short, with none of the five participants advancing to the semifinals. Harsh and Vevik managed to win their initial bouts but couldn't progress further. The tournament concluded with India's women bagging a total of eight medals including five golds, significantly outshining their male counterparts.
