Shubhankar Sharma delivered identical scores of 2-under 69 in his first two rounds at the Danish Golf Championship, landing him in a tied-fifth position as of Friday, even though the second round remains unfinished.

Sharma, who recently took a break post the Paris Olympics, found himself tied-14th after the first round concluded late on Wednesday. He kicked off the week with four birdies, adding two more on the ninth and 12th holes, although bogeys on the 11th and 13th halted some momentum. A double bogey on the par-4 16th further pegged him back.

In the second round starting on the 10th, Sharma was initially 3-under but lost four shots with two bogeys and a double bogey between the 16th and 18th holes. He rebounded impressively with birdies on the first, seventh, and eighth holes to finish with another 69, placing him at a solid 4-under.

Meanwhile, India's other contender, Om Prakash, struggled significantly, ending the day at 5-over 76 and tied for 145th. He needs an exceptionally low round to stay in the competition for the weekend.

Rasmus Højgaard began his title defense with a strong six-under par 65, leading by two strokes. Last year's victor at this very event, the 23-year-old aims to secure a fifth DP World Tour title and join his twin brother Nicolai on the PGA Tour. Højgaard's round featured five birdies and an eagle, setting the pace at the Lübker Golf Resort. Currently 20th on the Race to Dubai Rankings, he aspires to expand his professional footprint in 2025.
