In a commendable display of skill and determination, Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra secured second place at the Lausanne Diamond League meeting. Chopra threw a season-best of 89.49m on his final attempt, amidst a competitive field.

Nursing a longstanding groin injury, the 26-year-old showcased grit by moving from fourth to second-place with his penultimate throw. Anderson Peters of Grenada clinched the top spot with a massive 90.61m throw, while Germany's Julian Weber took third position.

With this result, Chopra stands joint third in the Diamond League standings with a total of 15 points, while Peters leads with 21 points. Chopra now looks forward to upcoming meets in Zurich and Brussels with hopes of qualifying for the season finale.
