Former Australian opener Matthew Hayden has stated that runs will be "at the premium" and could serve as the key differentiator during the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy series against India. The much-anticipated series will kick off with the first Test at Perth Stadium from November 22 to November 26.

India, having won its last two series on Australian soil in 2018-19 and 2020-21, has the opportunity to secure a hat-trick of series wins. Speaking at the CEAT Cricket Awards, Hayden remarked, "You look at the line-ups, and it is hard to really tell who has got the edge." He added, "Runs are going to be the point of difference. The best will need to stand up in this series; runs are going to be at a premium."

The second Test will take place at Adelaide Oval from December 6 to 10, featuring a day-night format. The third Test is scheduled for The Gabba in Brisbane from December 14 to 18. The Boxing Day Test will be held at Melbourne Cricket Ground from December 26 to 30, while the series finale will occur at Sydney Cricket Ground from January 3 to 7, promising a thrilling conclusion.
