Mike Weir Names Shigeki Maruyama as Assistant for 2024 Presidents Cup

International team captain Mike Weir has appointed Japan’s Shigeki Maruyama as his fifth and final assistant for the 2024 Presidents Cup. The event will take place from Sept. 26-29 at The Royal Montreal Golf Club, where a 12-man U.S. team will compete against international players outside Europe.

Maruyama, who previously competed in the event in 1998 and 2000, joins a roster of assistants including Ernie Els, Trevor Immelman, Geoff Ogilvy, and Camilo Villegas. Weir praises Maruyama's experience and dynamic personality, expecting him to bring inspiration and unwavering support to the team.
