Historic Canadian Trio Joins International Team for Presidents Cup

Mike Weir named fellow Canadians Corey Conners, Taylor Pendrith, and Mackenzie Hughes to his International Team for this month's Presidents Cup on home soil, while matchplay specialist Justin Thomas was notably left off the U.S. squad.

This marks a historic moment as it is the first time three Canadian players will compete for the International Team. Joining the Canadians are South Africa's Christiaan Bezuidenhout, South Korea's Kim Si-woo, and Australia's Min Woo Lee in the 12-player team facing Jim Furyk's powerhouse U.S. squad in Montreal from Sept. 26-29.

In a notable move, Jim Furyk strictly followed the U.S. Presidents Cup team standings to finalize his squad, selecting Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley, Sam Burns, Tony Finau, Brian Harman, Russell Henley, and Max Homa. The controversial exclusion of Justin Thomas, despite his recent efforts, remains a point of discussion.
