The much-anticipated sixth edition of the Tennis Premier League (TPL) will unfold from December 3-8 in Mumbai. The prestigious tournament will feature marquee names including India's Sumit Nagal, France's Hugo Gaston, and Poland's Magda Linette.

'Preparations for a bigger and better edition of the Tennis Premier League (TPL) are well underway with a new venue in Mumbai,' the TPL press release confirmed. Scheduled at the iconic Cricket Club of India, the league continues to be a significant sporting event, bringing top global tennis players to Indian courts.

In the men's draw, standout participants include World No.61 Hugo Gaston and in-form Indian ace Sumit Nagal, World No.74. The women's side will see Poland's Magda Linette (World No.41) and Armenian Elina Avanesyan (World No.52) competing. Following five successful seasons, TPL's fast-paced 25-point format is gaining popularity, comparable to the fanfare of the IPL.

Each participating franchise will play five matches to qualify for the semi-finals. These encounters will cover Men's Singles, Women's Singles, Mixed Doubles, and Men's Doubles, with each match offering a total of 100 points. Top four teams, post the league stage, will proceed to the semi-finals.

Franchises in contention include PBG Pune Jaguars, Bengal Wizards, Punjab Patriots, Hyderabad Strikers, Gujarat Panthers, Mumbai Leon Army, and defending champions Bengaluru SG Pipers. To foster future tennis talent, TPL has partnered with several associations and launched a Mobile App, connecting over 100 academies nationwide.

Kunal Thakkur, co-founder of Tennis Premier League, expressed excitement about returning to Mumbai, highlighting its rich tennis history and enthusiastic sporting fans. Co-founder Mrunal Jain echoed the sentiment, noting the city's vibrant sports culture.
