Nottingham Forest midfielder Danilo has suffered a significant injury, confirmed manager Nuno Espirito Santo after the Brazilian player was carried off on a stretcher just 10 minutes into their Premier League opener against Bournemouth on Sunday.

The 23-year-old, who joined Forest from Palmeiras in 2023, fell awkwardly following a collision with Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo. The incident led to a lengthy delay as Danilo received medical treatment on the pitch.

The match eventually resumed and ended in a 1-1 draw. Nuno expressed his concern, stating, "It's a tough moment for everyone, especially for Danilo. We're going to miss him both as a player and a person." Danilo, who has scored six times and provided four assists in 49 appearances for Forest, is widely loved in the dressing room. Forest's next Premier League fixture is an away game against Southampton on August 24.
