The Badminton Association of India (BAI) has announced a 39-member squad for the Badminton Asia (U-15/U-17) junior championships in Chengdu, China, scheduled for August 20 to 25. The team aims to win multiple medals and lay a strong foundation ahead of India's hosting of the 2025 World Junior Championship.

In last year's edition of the championship held in the same city, India secured one gold, one silver, and one bronze. Bornil Changmai clinched gold in the U15 boys' singles category. The Indian team departed for Chengdu after an extensive training camp at the National Centre of Excellence in Guwahati.

BAI Secretary Sanjay Mishra expressed confidence in the squad's potential. 'We are fielding one of the biggest squads for the Badminton Asia Championships. The hard work put in by the players and coaches during the training camp has readied them to make a mark,' he said.
