Peter Wilson, the celebrated British double trap marksman, has expressed his interest in coaching the Indian shooting team for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Wilson, who guided his country-mate Nathan Hales to an Olympic trap gold at the recent Paris Olympics, believes he can replicate such success with Indian shooters.

Wilson, 37, is no stranger to the pressures of competitive shooting. He holds the world record in double trap and earned a gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics, despite shifting to shooting following a debilitating snowboarding accident. His coaching credentials were further solidified when his ward, Nathan Hales, secured gold with an Olympic record in Paris.

The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) has acknowledged Wilson's application, with the association aiming to finalize their coaching setup soon. Sultan Singh, NRAI secretary-general, emphasized the organization's commitment to appointing the best coach, highlighting the interest of other notable candidates, including Italy's Daniele Di Spigno and David Kostelecky.
