Grand Send-Off for Indian Paralympians Ahead of Paris Games

The Indian Paralympic team received a grand send-off for the Paris Games set to occur from August 28 to September 8. The 84-athlete team across 12 disciplines was celebrated in a ceremony hosted by the Paralympic Committee of India and Sports Authority of India. Highlights include motivational speeches, the launch of a special anthem, and a commemorative book.

The Indian Paralympic contingent received a grand send-off on Friday as they prepare for the Paris Games scheduled from August 28 to September 8.

The Paralympic Committee of India (PCI) and the Sports Authority of India (SAI) hosted the ceremony, honoring the 84 athletes competing in 12 disciplines that include archery, athletics, badminton, and more.

Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya lauded the athletes' remarkable ability to overcome obstacles and expressed confidence in their potential to bring glory to the nation. He highlighted the government's commitment to providing resources and support for their success. PCI President Devendra Jhajharia also praised the team's dedication, hoping for another commendable performance similar to the 19 medals won in Tokyo. The event featured the launch of a special anthem 'Macha Dhoom' and a commemorative book 'Breaking the Barriers' authored by Abhishek Dubey and Mahavir Rawat.
