World number 11 Charley Hull is pushing for the reintroduction of Turnberry, a course owned by former U.S. President Donald Trump, into the women's British Open rotation. The R&A had previously excluded the course from hosting future championships due to Trump's controversial political activities.
Speaking at Dundonald Links, Hull revealed she recently played at Turnberry and believes it deserves to host the women's British Open again. 'A hundred per cent,' Hull stated, emphasizing the quality of the course.
Turnberry has a history of hosting major golf events, including the women's British Open twice and the men's British Open four times. Hull, who competed in the Paris Olympics, argues that the top-notch course merits inclusion in the women's golf schedule despite its ownership controversy.
