Demi Vollering Claims Yellow Jersey in Tour de France Femmes
Defending champion Demi Vollering of Team SD Worx–Protime won the third stage of the Tour de France Femmes, a 6.3-km time trial in Rotterdam. Vollering clocked seven minutes and 25 seconds, beating American Chloe Dygert by five seconds. Dutch cyclist Charlotte Kool lost her yellow jersey. The fourth stage is a 122.7-km ride from Valkenburg to Liege.
Defending champion Demi Vollering of Team SD Worx–Protime emerged victorious in the third stage of the Tour de France Femmes, winning the 6.3-km individual time trial in Rotterdam. Vollering clocked in at seven minutes and 25 seconds, outperforming American Chloe Dygert by five seconds.
Vollering's Dutch compatriot, Loes Adegeest, secured the third position. Unfortunately, Dutchwoman Charlotte Kool from Team DSM–Firmenich lost her yellow jersey, despite winning her second consecutive stage earlier.
"I didn't see this coming. I had no idea I could do this today," Vollering said, expressing surprise at her performance. The fourth stage of the Tour is set for a 122.7-km journey from Valkenburg to Liege.
