Atiqa Mir, at just nine years old, has created history in the world of motorsports by becoming the first woman racer to clinch a victory in the Rotax Challenge International Trophy, hosted at the renowned Le Mans Kart International circuit.
Representing the Dan Holland Racing Team in the Micro Max category, Atiqa triumphed in the Race 2 of the Heats, securing a landmark win. 'I feel really proud and thrilled to win a heat at such a significant event,' said Atiqa, who hails from Kashmir.
A staunch lover of cars from a young age, Atiqa aspires to break more ceilings, including becoming the first woman in Formula One. Balancing racing with education, she credits her father, Asif Mir, a former national champion, for his unwavering support. 'My dad really inspired me,' she noted.
