The Magadh Express, traveling from New Delhi to Islampur, split into two in Bihar's Buxar district, officials reported on Sunday.
No one was injured when the train uncoupled between the Twiniganj and Raghunathpur railway stations, according to Chief Public Relations Officer Sharswati Chandra of East Central Railway.
The incident disrupted rail traffic for over three hours, but service was restored by 2:25 pm. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause.
