Jamshedpur FC Signs Spanish Striker Francisco Javier Hernandez Gonzalez for ISL 2024-25

In a significant move ahead of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 season, Jamshedpur FC has secured the services of Spanish striker Francisco Javier Hernandez Gonzalez, the club announced on Thursday.

This marks the fourth ISL club for the 35-year-old forward, who previously played for ATK/ATK Mohun Bagan (2019-21), Odisha FC (2021-22), and Bengaluru FC (2022-24).

Hernandez has an impressive record in the ISL, scoring 15 goals in 53 games, with his standout season being 2022-23, where he scored nine goals in 29 matches for BFC.

He has helped ATKMB win the ISL title in the 2019-20 season and clinched the Durand Cup with BFC in 2022.

His career journey includes stints with prestigious clubs like Real Madrid B, Halmstad, Salamanca, Ourense, Burgos, Poli Timișoara, Gornik Łęczna, Gabala, and Cracovia.

Upon joining the Men of Steel, where he will don the number 10 jersey, Hernandez expressed his enthusiasm, stating, ''I'm delighted to join Jamshedpur FC, marking an exciting new chapter in my Indian football journey.''

JFC head coach Khalid Jamil also expressed his excitement, saying, ''Javier Hernandez brings unparalleled experience to our team, and it's crucial we leverage his expertise effectively.
