Nita Ambani, Founder of Reliance Foundation, has been unanimously re-elected to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) at the 142nd IOC session in Paris, days before the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Ambani expressed her gratitude and pride in a statement following her re-election.

"I would like to thank President Bach and all my colleagues in the IOC for their faith and trust in me. This re-election is not just a personal milestone but also a recognition of India's growing influence in the global sporting arena. I share this moment of joy and pride with every Indian and look forward to continuing our efforts to strengthen the Olympic Movement in India and around the world," Ambani said. Originally appointed in 2016, Ambani has significantly contributed to the IOC and India's sporting ambitions, including hosting the first IOC session in Mumbai in over 40 years in October 2023.

As the Founder and Chairperson of the Reliance Foundation, Ambani has empowered millions through initiatives in sports, education, health, art, and culture. The foundation's sports programmes have reached over 22.9 million children and youth in India, particularly in remote areas. IOC President Thomas Bach congratulated all re-elected members, acknowledging their collective efforts.

The Paris 2024 Olympic Games will be held from July 26 to August 11 in the French capital. (ANI)
