The Esports Federation of India (ESFI) has officially opened registrations for the National Esports Championship 2024 (NESC24), which will serve as the qualifying event for the forthcoming Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Thailand.

Scheduled from November 23 to 28, 2024, the esports event will feature three mobile titles. However, India will only compete in the eFootball mobile category, as Arena of Valor and Mobile Legend Bang Bang are banned in the country. NESC24 is set for the first week of August, with quarter finals onward to be streamed live on YouTube.

Lokesh Suji, Director of ESFI, emphasized the growing importance of esports at multi-sports events, highlighting that esports' promotion from a demonstration to a medal event indicates its increasing significance. Registrations close on July 31, 2024, and selected players will have the chance to train ahead of the continental games.
