The Indian Deaf Cricket Association (IDCA) is organizing a five-day One-Day National Zonal Cricket Championship for the Deaf in Srinagar from July 17-21. This inaugural event features eight specially-abled men's teams from various parts of the country competing for the Champions Trophy.

Sumit Jain, President of IDCA, expressed gratitude to major sponsors including the Serum Institute of India, Cyrus Poonawalla Group, and KFC India, among others. He highlighted their invaluable support for the tournament set to take place in Jammu & Kashmir. Suhail Ahmad Mir, President of the J & K Physiotherapists Association and International Sports Physiotherapist, commented on the honor of being invited as the chief guest. He called for the BCCI's full support in such initiatives to boost the performance of specially-abled cricket players.

Majid Dar, In-charge of Cricketing Development Activities at JKCA Srinagar, welcomed the participants, emphasizing the association's commitment to promoting cricket for specially-abled individuals. The tournament began with a special opening ceremony at Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium, Sonwar, Srinagar, and will culminate in a final match between the top two teams on July 21.
