Israel goalkeeper Daniel Peretz will miss the Paris Olympics after suffering a muscle tendon injury in his thigh, according to Bayern Munich. The Bundesliga team announced on Thursday that Peretz will be sidelined for several weeks and has returned to Munich for treatment.

The 24-year-old athlete joined Bayern Munich last year from Maccabi Tel Aviv and has made two appearances for the club in all competitions. Peretz was one of three players aged over 23 in Israel's Olympic football squad, alongside Sean Goldberg and Omri Gandelman.

Israel is set to begin its Olympic campaign against Mali on July 24, followed by matches against Japan and Paraguay in Group D.
