Max Verstappen, Red Bull's triple world champion, disclosed on Thursday that he raced with blurred vision in 2021 after a British Grand Prix collision with Lewis Hamilton. However, this issue no longer affects him.

The Dutch driver mentioned last week in his team's Red Bulletin that he had visibility problems for several races during his title battle with Hamilton. This revelation came as a surprise and sparked safety concerns.

Verstappen recounted how the visibility issue was so severe during the U.S. Grand Prix that he considered turning his car off. He clarified that the problem only occurred in 2021 and has since been resolved. When questioned about whether the issue started after the Silverstone clash, where he was taken to the hospital for checks, he confirmed it did not happen prior. Verstappen added, 'We are racing drivers. You deal with all sorts of stuff.'

Verstappen is currently 84 points clear in the 2024 championship, with 12 of 24 races remaining, and he is chasing his fourth consecutive title. Despite winning seven races this year, he faces stiff competition in Hungary with Mercedes aiming for their third successive win and McLaren also posing a strong challenge.
