The 'Vishanu Yuddh Abhyas' (Virus War Exercise) mock drill took place in Rajasthan's Ajmer district from August 27 to August 31. Conducted by the National One Health Mission (NOHM), the drill aimed to evaluate the preparedness of the National Joint Outbreak Response Team (NJORT).

The exercise simulated a real-world outbreak of a zoonotic disease. Union Health and Family Welfare Minister J P Nadda praised the exercise for highlighting the 'One Health Mission,' which addresses health concerns of humans, animals, and plants in an integrated way.

Involving various stakeholders like the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the drill focused on virus identification and containment measures. Observers noted the prompt and appropriate response of district and state teams, though areas needing improvement were identified.
